What do the different color packets of Advantage mean?

How long after using Advantage flea treatment can I wash my dog or let him swim?
It is best to wait about 24 hours before you can let your dog get wet again. Also before you apply Advantage make sure that your dog is fully dry or it wont be as effective.
How well does Advantage work in killing and keep fleas off my dog?
It is very effective in killing fleas on your dog and preventing fleas from getting on him/her. For best results treating your dog on a monthly basis is recommended.
How long does it take before Advantage will start to work?
It's been shown to kill adult and larval fleas within 20 minutes of contact to the dog. It will stop fleas from feeding in less than 5 minutes. Fleas do not have to actually bite the animal for them to be killed by Advantage.

This can be for a number of reasons. The main reasons would be if you have a really bad flea problem Advantage is not working as strong at the end of the month as it does at the start, so although it is still working some what it is not enough to stop the large amount of fleas. If this is the case you will want to re-apply every 2 weeks while fleas are bad. Another reason is that it takes up to a year to stop the flea cycle on your pet. This means that treating your dog with Advantage flea treatment the full year instead of just the warmer months when fleas are worse will make it more effective when flea season is on. Most people dont have an extreme case of fleas and wont have to worry about it lasting less than a month.
